Leon Wzorek was since 1920 the first Polish lighthouse keeper of the former German lighthouse in Rozewie. Previously, he served as a seaman in the Polish Navy. After the outbreak of WW2 in 1939, he remained in spite of evacuation at the lighthouse to operate it further. Unfortunately, he was captured by the Nazis and executed. In 1945, his brother Władysław took over the position of the lighthouse keeper and from 1973 the son of Leon Wzorek - Zbigniew. Even today a plaque at the lighthouse remembers Leon Wzorek.
